Tale of the Demon Tail (also known as Demon in Di-Skies) is the thirty-second episode of Jackie Chan Adventures.
Synopsis[]
The Dark Hand seeks out the next Demon Portal at Fenway Park. Hsi Wu the Sky Demon, flies out of the Demon Netherworld but it's right in front of the girls' bathroom door, and his tail snaps off as Jade tries to close the door. Hsi Wu disguises himself as one of Jade's classmates and they become friends. But once Hsi Wu learns that Uncle put a Chi Spell on his tail and captures him, an angered Jade uses some of the Talismans to confront him.
Plot[]
At a baseball stadium in Boston, the Chans and Tohru are preparing for the appearance of another of the Demon Sorcerers. Jade, having ignored her prime game tickets to take part, ends up rushing to the bathroom after having too much soda. Unbeknownst to her, the portal that will release Hsi Wu the Sky Demon is located in the women's restroom door. Shendu, Chow, and Ratso open the portal with the Pan'ku Box, only to notice Jackie's presence.
While Jackie fights Chow and Ratso, Uncle and Tohru prepare the spell as Hsi Wu emerges from the portal. As Jackie tries to force Hsi Wu back into the portal, Uncle works on completing the spell. Jade opens the door to the restroom, but then slams it shut on Hsi Wu's tail, which is severed as he makes his escape, fleeing before the spell can take place. Captain Black and Section 13 agents then appear, forcing Shendu and his minions to flee. The Chans are left in possession of Hsi Wu's severed yet still animated-tail, which they lock away at Uncle's Rare Finds.
Uncle sets up various safeguards to prevent Hsi Wu from entering uninvited; after testing the defenses, Hsi Wu decides to use Jade as a means of gaining entry. Transforming into a human boy, he comes to Jade's defense the following day when Drew is teasing her about not having a date to a school dance. Introducing himself as Seymour, he soon befriends her, and makes his way into Uncle's shop. However, before he can reclaim his tail, Uncle catches the pair, and "Seymour" lies to spare Jade from being punished.
Later, Jade discusses her new friend with Tohru, who suggests she might invite him to the dance. Later, Uncle coats Hsi Wu's tail in the chi spell needed to banish the demon, intending to activate it once the tail reattaches to him. Jade, meanwhile, gives "Seymour" half of a friendship medallion, and he attempts once again to find some excuse to enter the shop. However, Uncle then exits with the tail, which quickly recognizes him and flies back to him.
Capturing the tail in a backpack, Hsi Wu reveals himself and carries off Uncle, intending to force him to remove the chi spell. Jackie takes off after the Sky Demon himself, sending Jade back to Section 13. Uncle proves an uncooperative hostage, buying Jackie and Tohru time by persuading Hsi Wu that he can't do anything about the spell on his tail without his spellbooks. Jackie and Tohru, meanwhile, manage to pick up a trail of mung beans left by Uncle to track him.
Jade sneaks into the Section 13 vault and takes the Rabbit, Rooster, and Tiger Talismans, allowing her to fly and to track Hsi Wu through the medallion half she gave him. Jackie and Tohru arrive at the water tower where Uncle is being held, and Hsi Wu engages Jade while Jackie faces the Dark Hand. Hsi Wu then steals the backpack containing his tail, while Jackie and Tohru's foes each fall to various safe landings. Hsi Wu continues to pursue Jade, but she eventually gets the backpack open to release the tail.
The tail reattaches to Hsi Wu, allowing Uncle to activate the spell and Jackie to play the flute that sends the Sky Demon back to the Netherworld. Later, Jade expresses her disappointment over the lost friendship to Tohru. She then realizes that Tohru is her true friend, and gifts him the medallion half she recovered from Hsi Wu.

Trivia[]
- The alternate title for this episode (Demon in Di-Skies) is likely a reference to the 1972 album Demon in Disguise by David Bromberg.
- This is one of the few episodes in which only two of the three main Enforcers make an appearance. In this case, Finn was absent.
- Excluding Shendu's dialogue, Valmont has no lines in this episode.
- This is the first (and only) time Jade is ever seen wearing socks, as she normally doesn't wear them with her shoes.
