The Rat Talisman is one of the Twelve Talismans of Shendu. After Shendu was defeated and his powers scattered, the Rat Talisman was hidden away.

Origin

When Lo Pei turned Shendu into a statue, the power of animation was separated from Shendu in the form of the Rat Talisman and was scattered all over the world.

This talisman was discovered at an auction house in San Francisco, embedded on the front of an ornate lamp.

Powers and Abilities

The user of the Rat Talisman gains the Power of Animation. When an inanimate object absorbs the Talisman, it comes to life. If the object is modeled after something, it becomes even more like it and takes on their respective abilities and persona. For example, it replicated the powers and personality of the fictional character Super Moose when used on one of his dolls. A statue of the Sacred Warrior Lo Pei became an exact duplicate of the man, including his power of scroll magic, memories, and mission to protect the Talismans or restore life to beings turned into inanimate objects such as a puppet or mask. Despite these powers, however, all animated objects retain the durability of the materials they are made of, despite appearing to be flesh and blood (Super Moose was easily torn to pieces, while Lo Pei was unharmed from being crushed under a taxi) and the talisman appears unable to interfere with any integral magical qualities of the object it's used and/or placed on, such as Shendu requiring all 12 talismans to be released and Ikazuki's animated mask being unable to summon his shadowkhan without a wearer. While the talisman has been shown to only be able bring to life one object at a time, the noble animal Mickey was able animate several objects at once, such as several Super Moose dolls and a silver statue of Quetzalcoatl.
