The Pink Puma is a famous pink diamond that was on exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
History[]
When Jackie Chan attempted to convince the curator to entrust the Snake Talisman in his care, warning him that the Dark Hand were planning on stealing it from his museum, the curator drew Jackie's attention to the Pink Puma, assuring him that, given his museum was entrusted to hold the world famous pink diamond, the talisman was in safe hands. After the two had moved on from the exhibit, however, a woman later revealed to be Viper could be seen photographing the diamond with a spy camera, intending to steal the Pink Puma that very night. Concurrently, Jackie intended to break into the museum to steal the talisman.
Later that night, the two successfully infiltrated the building via a skylight on the roof, unbeknownst of each other's presence until after the respective thefts had taken place, both of which were conducted successfully. Upon their departure, both thieves discovered one another and a fight between the two swiftly ensued. To Jackie's surprise, however, Viper was unaffiliated with the Dark Hand, and was actually there to steal the Pink Puma, rather than the Snake Talisman. When Jackie accidentally triggered an alarm, the two were quickly forced to disperse. In the ensuing panic, however, each of them mistakenly left with the other's loot after their bags got mixed up in the earlier scuffle.
Upon this discovery, Jackie rushed back to the museum, attempting to return the diamond before the authorities could respond to the crime, but was apprehended by police after arriving too late. Whilst one officer proceeded to arrest Jackie, two others moved in to secure the diamond, only to discover that the bag was empty. The next morning, Jackie awakened in police custody and received a visit from Jade, who was revealed to have taken the diamond from the bag before handing it to Jackie the night previously, intending to barter it with Viper in exchange for the talisman. Meanwhile, Viper discovered the mix-up for herself in her apartment, initially dismayed until inadvertently activating the talisman's power of invisibility.
Using the talisman's power, Viper proceeded to break Jackie out of jail, whereupon the two met up with Jade to conduct the exchange. After Jackie reluctantly agreed, Viper ostensibly traded the talisman for the diamond before quickly fleeing the scene. However, the talisman Viper parted with was revealed to be a counterfeit, the real talisman still in Viper's possession along with the Pink Puma. When Viper returned to her apartment, she was greeted by Valmont, who sought to seize the talisman from her. Following a brief skirmish with the Shadowkhan, Viper used the talisman to escape from the building, whereupon Valmont ordered his ninjas to retrieve the talisman, whilst also expressing an interest in acquiring the Pink Puma. Jackie and Jade eventually caught up to Viper on top of an inflatable moose balloon in the midst of the Thanksgiving Day Parade, upon which Viper sheepishly surrendered the talisman to an exasperated Jackie. When the balloon was pierced by a Shadowkhan's shuriken in the ensuing fight, the giant moose was sent flying through the city, eventually landing on the Statue of Liberty's torch. When the talisman slipped from the balloon and fell in between the statue's toes, the statue itself turned invisible.
After the three eventually got back to the ground, Viper offered Jackie her thanks, admitting that she owed him one before disappearing once again with the Pink Puma still in her possession. Jackie pleaded with her to give him the diamond so that he could clear his name to the police, but he received no answer. However, Jade is revealed to have once again "pulled a Viper", having managed to slip the diamond from her before she left the scene. Just then, a squad of police officers showed up, and Jackie hastily surrendered the diamond, to which they were less than impressed, instead demanding to know what had happened to the Statue of Liberty.
