Magic is the supernatural art of harnessing unseen spiritual forces. It is typically channeled through the use of spells, rituals and other mystical practices to achieve a wide range of extraordinary outcomes beyond the scope of natural laws. Practitioners of magic are primarily known as wizards.
Known Types of Magic[]
- Chi Magic - A form of magic used to manipulate the flow of Chi, the essential life force of all natural beings. It is balanced between the conflicting forces of yin and yang (light and dark or good and evil).
- Good Chi Magic - Benevolent magic primarily conjured by Good Chi Wizards. Malevolent beings such as the Demon Sorcerers are unable to come into contact with this type of magic without getting harmed.
- Dark Chi Magic - Malevolent magic primarily conjured by Dark Chi Wizards.
- Demon Chi Magic - The eight elemental powers of the Demon Sorcerers.
- Fire Demon Chi - The elemental powers of Shendu the Fire Demon.
- Wind Demon Chi - The elemental powers of Xiao Fung the Wind Demon.
- Water Demon Chi - The elemental powers of Bai Tza the Water Demon.
- Earth Demon Chi - The elemental powers of Dai Gui the Earth Demon.
- Moon Demon Chi - The elemental powers of Tso Lan the Moon Demon.

- Portal Magic - A magical mode of transportation. This method of travel can also be used to open portals through time to either the past or the future.
- Scroll Magic - An arcane practice of magic that casts powerful Chi Spells through enchanted scroll parchments.
- Shadow Magic - A mystical form of magic used by the Shadowkhan that offers the ability to travel anywhere by passing through and between shadows.
- Talisman Magic - The twelve magical powers of the Talismans. According to legend, each of these powers originally belonged to the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac.
- Theater Magic - A special type of magic used by theater actors to perform a variety of stage tricks by allowing seamless passage through walls, floors and ceilings. This is attained by wearing Magic Make-up.

- Absorption Spell - Used by Daolon Wong to extract the magical powers of the Talismans.
- Banishment Spell - Used to banish the Demon Sorcerers by enchanting each symbol of the Eight Immortals.
- Binding Spell - Used to recapture escaped Mirror Spirits by imprisoning them in reflective objects.
- Chi Removal Spell - Used by Uncle to remove Demon Chi from its host.
- Chi Transfusion Spell - Used to keep a subject alive by transferring excess Chi from a donor.
- Counter Spell - Used to counter the effect of another spell.
- Deep Sleep Spell - Used to sedate a subject into a prolonged sleep-like state.
- Disappearing Spell - Used to vanish an object or individual. If a void is not chosen as the target destination, the subject may be lost indefinitely.
- Disenchantment Spell - Used by Uncle to magically disenchant Daolon Wong and his Dark Chi Warriors.
- Duplication Spell - Used to create an identical copy of an object or individual. The spell will continue to duplicate unless a finishing charm is applied.
- Exorcism Spell - Used to vanquish unwelcome spirits from a possessed host's body.
- Growing Spell - Used to increase the size of an object or individual. The subject will continue to grow larger in size unless a finishing charm is applied.
- Immobilizer Spell - Used by Daolon Wong to paralyze a subject from the neck down.
- Locator Spell - Used to determine the whereabouts of an object, individual or power. Each spell requires an item that corresponds to the subject, such as an individual's personal effects, which are enchanted to reveal its location.
- Mask Removal Spell - Used to magically remove an Oni Mask from a host's face. Each mask requires its own unique key ingredient for the removal spell to work.
- Parchment Spell - Used to immobilize a subject by placing a magical parchment over their face. Victims will lose control of their body, but not their ability to speak.
- Protection Spell - Used to protect an object or individual by summoning a magical guardian.
- Resurrection Spell - Used by Daolon Wong to restore life to Shendu.
- Reversal Spell - Used to reverse the effect of another spell.
- Seniority Spell - Used to grant authority over any subject by radically de-aging the subject in question.
- Shrinking Spell - Used to reduce the size of an object or individual. The subject is typically shrunk to the size of an ant.
- Stun Spell - Used to blast Chi energy at a target. Uncle typically uses an enchanted blowfish to fire Stun Spells.
- Time Portal Spell - Used to open portals through time via Portal Magic.
- Transfer Spell - Used by Uncle to transfer the magical Talisman powers from the Noble Animals.
- Water Summoning Spell - Used by the Water Demon to unleash a powerful flood of water.
Known Magical Incantations[]
- Ex Metu Veres - Used by the Brotherhood of Magisters to cast bolts of lightning. It roughly translates from Latin to "Out of fear, the truth".
- Kuai Kuai Qi Lai - Used by Shendu (in Jackie Chan's body) to open the portal to the Book of Ages. It literally translates from Mandarin to "Quickly, quickly stand up" (快快起來).
- Kwai Jong - Used by Uncle when performing a size-restoration spell on Jackie to reverse the effects of Jade's shrinking spell. It roughly translates from Chinese to "Quickly grow".
- Lai Shui Zai - Used by Bai Tza when performing a Water Summoning Spell during her attempt to flood San Francisco. It roughly translates from Chinese to "Occur, flood" or "Come, flood" (來水災). The spell circle used for this spell has a '水' kanji at the center of it, which means "Water" in Chinese and Japanese.
- Mee-thana Chi Chi-Mee-thana Chi - Used by Tohru when attempting to absorb all eight Demon Chi powers from Drago.
- Nukeru He Men Ja'aku - Used by Uncle to remove the Oni Masks from their hosts. It roughly translates from Japanese to "Come out mask/face of evil".
- Wongai Womai Wongai Womai - Used by Uncle when performing a Counter Spell to what was assumed to be Jade's Disappearing Spell.
- Xia Xu Xia Xu Xia Xu Xia Xu - Used by Jade when performing a shrinking spell. After "Xia Xu" is uttered four times, the subject's name is added to cast the spell. "Xia Xu" translates roughly from Chinese to "Lower go on".
- Ya Gaa Mee Mo Ya Gaa Mee Chi Wa - Used by Drago to absorb all eight Demon Chi powers at once. Later used again by Drago to open a portal to the Netherworld.
- Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao - Used by Uncle as a regular incantation for casting spells. It roughly translates from Cantonese to "Spirits, demons, ghosts, monsters, quickly leave" (妖魔鬼怪快啲走).
- Zhe Yiqie Bu Shunli - Used by Iso to perform a variety of spells. It roughly translates from Chinese to "It's not going well" (这一切不顺利).

- Amnesia Potion - A sprayable potion that afflicts its subjects with memory loss.
- Magic Make-up - A mystical ointment worn by theater actors that allows seamless passage through walls, floors and ceilings.
- Magical Balm - A magical balm concocted by Uncle to extract the Talismans from Shendu's otherwise impenetrable shell. It consists of a green, glowing liquid that is dabbled onto the hands.
- Petrifying Venom - A magical venom that turns living being into stone.
