How about the Book of Ages? We've already seen it being used to create the alternate timeline of Demon World. What other fun ways could it be abused?
It's rather good. :)
Well, for one thing, it requires a guardian. It's just so neglectful to leave such a powerful object without protection, given how easily Shendu reached it. There weren't even traps on the path there.
Have you read The Ultimate Evil of DONOVAN94 ? In it, one of the OCs is a guardian in the form of an old aboriginal shaman. He tests pilgrims with three tests before letting them reach the Book. Those who would use the Book for ill purposes he erases from existence.
No, I haven't read that. But yeah, one wonders why such a great object/weapon of infinite power would be left unguarded, to be vandalized like a wiki article. But anyways, what other ways could the Book be rewritten? Besides the obvious "world domination" scenario.
I don't know if this is a good or bad idea, but I thought of a humorous/parodic plot: a nerd uses the Book of Ages to rewrite reality, so that it resembles their horrible fan-fiction! You know, the kind that involves excessive focus on an original self-insert protagonist, canon characters acting extremely out of character, and mushy romantic shipping that makes no sense (i.e. Jade + Drago / Hsi-Wu / self-insert / etc.).
Well, I won't take a stance on that idea. Instead, I present this idea: Jade is brought in a rewritten mirror-world where all the characters' morality is reversed.
- Section 13 is a competent government-supported terrorist syndicate dedicated to keep the rest of the Earth under USA's rule.
-The Dark Hand is an underground resistance movement working against Section 13, albeit with little to no results. Valmont is using his money on genuine charity. The Enforcers trio are more or less the same as before. Tohru is a former member who betrayed them to Section 13 for not paying what he thought he deserved (so he started out good, but was corrupted). Hak Foo is an honorable wandering martial artist who often helps the Dark Hand.
- Jackie Chan is a mercenary acheologist constantly hired by Section 13, enjoying fighting like his canonical Yang side.
- Uncle is an amoral and sneaky antique salesman who acts much like his evil counterpart Daolon Wong.
- Daolon Wong leads an organization that operates from the shadows in order to preserve the world's balance.
- Ben Shui Monks actively try to upset the balance between good and evil in favor of the latter.
- The eight Demon Sorcerers are benevolent creatures who were sealed out of resentment and prejudices. Now they're trying to free and bring the world back in order.
- Tarakudo and the Shadowkhan are honorable, yet suffer in a similar way to the Demon Sorcerers.
- Jade herself is a developing psychopath who's vices exaggerated versions of canonical Jade's vices.
In an effort to restore the timeline (again), Jade teams up with people she has known as enemies.
You don't have a stance on the "fanfiction parody"? Well, considering the insider knowledge required, it would probably work better as, ironically, a fanfic.
You've got an interesting idea there, though who exactly would benefit from creating a mirror world where good and evil are flipped? Perhaps there's an artifact out there that lets one travel to such alternate worlds.
I meant that the Book of Ages would reverse the roles. The perpetrator would be a Joker-like villain who likes to spread chaos just for the hell of it.
Like the Monkey King?
